Tricks & Fun class in Mathematics - Group A(8 - 10yrs) (Click on the link to register for the activity) Shirdi Sai Parivaar is pleased to present a short and fun class in Mathematics The class will be provided by Dr. G. Srinivas Rao a renowned Mathematician from India. Dr. Rao has done extensive research in Recreational Mathematics based on which he has developed course material that highlight salient features of the subject, especially tricks and fun techniques based on Vedic Mathematics. Dr. Rao is currently visiting Bay Area and has agreed to offer a short and fun filled class at the Shirdi Sai Center. The class will cater to children 8 years and above. Due to time and travel constrains, Dr. Rao is able to offer the course only on the following dates and timings.The class will be split into two groups: Group A will comprise of children in the 8 -10 years age limit and Group B will comprise of children 10 years and above. Each group will have 4 sessions and children are expected to attend all the sessions under their respective groups. The dates/timings for the classes are as follows: GROUP A (8-10 years):

Lecture on Human Excellence Lecture on “Human Excellence: Lessons for Day to Day Conscious Living” by Dr. Chinmaya Pandya, Pro Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya As part of its Community Activities, Shirdi Sai Parivaar is pleased to provide a lecture on “Human Excellence: Lessons For Day to Day Conscious Living” by Dr. ChinmayaPandya on Sunday, July 27th from 7:00-8:25 P.M. The lecture will be held in the Multipurpose Room at the Shirdi Sai Center. The focus of the topic will be on building excellence in every sphere of life. The lecture is open to all but specific examples will touch the needs of students, parents, and working class. Dr. Chinmay Pandya was born and raised in the spiritual academy (Ashram) of Shantikunj in Haridwar, India. After completing his medical degree at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, he decided to pursue his post graduation from the United Kingdom. Dr. Chinmay went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Wolverhampton, UK and eventually completed MRCPsych (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists) from London. As a Consultant and as Associate Specialist for the Alzheimer Disease Treatment Service and Older People’s Service in the West London Hospital Trust, London, he helped patients to recover from the rare and difficult diseases. Later, after gaining valuable experience and expertise in the UK, Dr. Chinmay Pandya returned to India in 2010 and joined Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV), to answer his inner call to serve the society. Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (D.S.V.V.) is a non-conventional centre of higher learning, education and research located in the Himalayan surroundings along the banks of River Ganges. It is an exceptional creation, which has born out of a unique vision of the groundbreaking scholar and visionary, Pt Shriram Sharma Acharya ji (1911-1990), who was also a renowned social reformer and a celebrated freedom fighter. He had a vision to establish a University devoted to the preservation and propagation of the Indian Culture, which to him was Dev Sanskriti, that could combine the percepts of practical knowledge (shiksha) and spiritual education (vidya) to create truly enlightened individuals. |
