As you are aware Shirdi Sai Parivaar (SSP) has been offering scholarships for the students from Milpitas Union School District (MUSD) for pursuing higher studies either in a college or university (two or four year institution) or trade school. SSP will provide scholarships worth $7500 to deserving and well-performing high school students for this year.
 
In order to identify deserving students, for the scholarship program, SSP has set-up a selection committee comprising of five members of which two will no longer be available to continue on this committee. We would like to seek nominations for the two open positions of
SSP-MUSD Scholarship Program Selection committee.
 
Eligibility criteria and requirements:
 
1.     Individual should be able to spend at least 8-10 hours per week to review the scholarship applications during Feb, Mar & April months.
 
2.    Preference will be given to individuals who have participated in college scholarship application process or have background in teaching in a high school, community college, trade school or University of California system.
 
3.    Individuals will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality as they will have access to personal information of the applicants.
 
4.    If we receive more than 2 nominations, the members for the selection committee will be selected through a chit process    
 
5.    Children of SSP Board, Charity team, or the selection committee members will not be eligible for receiving the MUSD scholarship.

  • Encourage and support higher education: Helped underprivileged students for their higher educations by providing scholarships
    • Five scholarship ($1000 each) were provided to high school graduates from the Milpitas Union school district for their college education.
    • $1500 was provided to Saburi Charity, a San Jose based NPO, which provides support for underprivileged students in Tamil Nadu, India.
